Not being blond and busty (and not of the wearing make-up type) I have encountered many times where I have felt uncomfortable because I didn't fit in with the "in" crowd. But that's OK, I learn from that and stay away from those places.

There's PLENTY of down to earth, good people who do not judge you by your the make of your handbag. My comment is this: lots of good regular people here, and yes, there are some hoity-toity people too. My advice is this: come and enjoy the things you like and stay away from the things you don't like. You can't change other people's actions, you can only change your own.

San Diego is a tourist town. Dress touristy and you will be fine.
