Communities that are not too crowded, but are not that rural either. That have safe schools. You have neighbors but they are more than 20feet away from you. Some ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Those are nice places for certain.
Farther inland though. Home prices up to $750,000.

For $750K now, you can get a nice property, especially if you aren't dead set on being close to the beach. I think there are parts of southeast Carlsbad (out off Rancho Santa Fe road near Aviara/Poinsettia) that might suit you. Except it's tract housing and close together. If you want space between you and your neighbors, you may have to settle for more rural (Olivenhain, Escondido, etc).

Semi rural is fine. I dont mind inland. Far from the beach is fine.
I never thought escondido was rural.

Escondido is rural along the edges (west of 15 towards Lake Hodges, east of Bear Valley Parkway towards Wild Animal Park) .

Escondido is a big, spread out city and I guess I include some of the outlying unincorporated areas that may not be in the city limits, too.

No, that would be the San Pasqual area. East out of Escondido.

If you want to go north from Escondido up the 15, Fallbrook is nice and fairly rural. Also Valley Center (popular with horse people), and Pala. Pala is very rural, but it smells great when all the orange trees are in bloom!

Then there are Ramona (rural flatland) and Julian (rural mountain community known for it's apple festivals featuring yummy Julian Apple Pies).

Lots of choices!
