Hello everyone,

I am interviewing for a position in Sorrento valley road in North Area of San Diego. I know quite well the downtown area up to mission beach but I don't know the north side of town.

I will be coming for interview in a few weeks and would like to spend a few hours looking at some areas to bring back pictures for my family. Will have limited time so have to make some choice...

What we will be looking in no particular order...

20 to 30 min max commuting time to work
Good school but does not have to be the absolut BEST (kids 10,7 and 14 months)
Safe (both in school and housing)
House with "spanish, meditteran" feel less than 10 years old, land between 6000 and 10 000 sqf, community swiming pool/ center.
Best if school and shopping close by...

Budget under 1 M.....

Any help/info that would ease my first trip would be great...

Many thanks
Pecosbill

I think the stickler will be the newer house on the larger lot. If you can go with a smaller lot / new house or older house / large lot you will have many more options.

Hi Pecos, if you are not afraid of a Realtor, I'll be happy to help you. There is way too much information for just a blog post.

I'd probably look into Solana Beach and Cardiff area. Going farther north probably would put you above the 20-30 commute time. And you probably will have to settle for either a slightly smaller lot or older home for that price.

I know there is a lot of information....
I am never afraid of a good realtor but as it is an early process I would not commite to anything...
My current need is that I will have a few hours (maybe 3 or 4) to bring back some info/pictures on the area for my family... So won't be able to cover, Solana, carmel valley etc... So some recommendations on wher I should try to spend time would be great.
To respond to other nice reply, lot is not a big issue but 6000 should be OK to find I hope...

Thanks again
Dominique

PS : you can send me a private e-mail if you want
