I hope not, but that is extremely weird for all those seals to leave like that. It worries me a bit b/c of all of my family in NorCal. It's been 20 years since Loma Prieta so that area is due.

The 5.9 quake hit at about 10:50am Wednesday and was centered about 22 miles south of Calexico in Mexico.

There were no initial reports of serious damage or injuries, but the quake was felt throughout many parts of San Diego County.

The initial quake was followed a few minutes later by a second quake measuring 4.9.

I'm going to the Holiday Bowl today, hope everything holds up!

I felt it up in Temecula. Felt it and then looked at the windows and saw the blinds swaying.

It is interesting about the sea lions...animals do sense danger way before we do. I remember when the big tsunami hit all the animals had headed to higher ground before any human knew what was coming.

Mission Valley here. Was out walking the dog and felt nothing. When I got home wife said the couch she was sitting on slid a couple of inches along the hardwood floor in the living room.

This was the first time I have felt an earthquake since I moved here over a year ago. Just so happens my brother is visiting from Michigan, so I'm sure it will be a good story for him. I felt the sofa moving and I thought it was him messing around until I looked and saw the Christmas tree and blinds swaying. Also my entertainment stand and sliding wooden doors were vibrating. I would say it lasted about 20 seconds, but was definitely the real deal. My husband, who works downtown, called and said they really could feel the building swaying. Must have been a trip for everyone at work today!
