I am thinking of going to Las Vegas for several days, but checking on Orbitz, there are no direct flights (one way trip) between San Diego and Las Vegas over the next several days. I find this quite surprising, since the two cities are not too far from each other.

Anything I am missing?

There are direct flights via Southwest Airlines--which don't show up through aggregates (i.e., Orbitz). You have to book directly from southwest.com.

Thanks! Must be other airlines too (AirTran, Frontier, JetBlue etc...), but Southwest fare seems reasonable.

Yes Southwest is your best bet. San Diego is Southwest Airlines second largest west coast destination and definitely has direct flights to Vegas.

Yeah, my girlfriend and I used to fly direct SD to LV on SWA fairly regularly. The cost was usually around $70-$80 plus taxes.

Doesn't US Air fly this route anymore?

They cut a lot of their flights in the west and this may have been one of them.
