Downtown is considered coastal. To go inland, you start by going into East County, Lemon Grove, La Mesa, El Cajon, Lakeside, Santee and further out......

No, June gloom does not hit downtown hard. June gloom is a joke in my experiences here. Maybe the La Jolla peninsula, but SD is not San Francisco or the Pacific Northwest.

I lived in the East Village for six years, and we got all of May Gray and June Gloom. It does hit downtown hard, especially closer to the water.

Look, it's 2 (+or-) months of mostly cloudy but generally warm weather. Usually the sun will peek through in the afternoon for a while, sometimes not. I'm sure you will survive. Most of us manage to.
