Hello!

My husband has been offered a job ($$ not much more than he is making in Tx - bummer but we are ready to give up the land and magahouse for some Cali fun!). When we visited I really liked Boulder Creek. Can I get more information on the white supremecy issue there? I am Hispanic, my husband Caucasian and while my kids are gorgeous , they look more like me except tall. I don't want to move to a place that will make them feel out of place, bullied or subjected to white supremicists. It didn't seem very diverse in Boulder Creek but we did live in Idaho and had the best experiences, given how un-diverse it is and the people we met in Boulder Creek seemed so very nice!

Any other info on Boulder Creek would be great!!! Thank you!

White supremacy issues? It's a bunch of old hippies and dot commers as far as I can tell, I really don't think you'd see much racism there. There might not be a lot of Hispanics in Boulder Creek but they are all over Santa Cruz County so it's not like people will be surprised to see Hispanics there. If you can get along in Idaho I think you'd be ok in BC.

Thanks Mayorhaggar - I actually posted this on the wrong section....it probably should be in San Jose instead of San Fransisco.

It did seem really nice but in some of the other threads I did read about white supremecy issues - which I thought I should look into!

There aren't many Hispanics there but the whole white supremacy talk is complete BS, spouted by people that don't know what there talking about. You"ll be fine.

Funny you mentioned Boulder Creek. We know of a couple (coincidentally one Anglo, one Hispanic) with kids who lived there, who didn't have any problems with the locals, who they said were quite friendly. However, the commute they had (driving to San Bruno and Palo Alto) was pretty draining over the years...so you may want to consider that as a factor if you want to move there.
