I don't know the answer to your question, but this thread is fairly similar, and might help:

It seems to me the Corte Madera to Oakland commute could get tricky and congested. You could take the San Rafael Bridge and get into the east bay that way, and you'd hit that God awful westbound traffic on 580/80.

Or you can travel across the both the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges which doesn't seem to make much sense, especially financially with the tolls.

Another option, carpool into the city together and drop him off at BART where he can catch that into Oakland. Then just do the same thing on the return trip. Assuming he's working in downtown Oaktown and he has the type of position where he doesn't have a lot of OT of course. This may prove to be the best route.

Good luck.

I always forget the Commuter Vanpool option. Maybe there's a commuter van going from Corte Madera to Oakland.

Sorry, one more thing came to mind and then I'm done! Check with his employer's HR Dept. Only if he already has the job, you don't want to make it look like you're not going to be able to get to work, lol. Some established, large corporations in Oakland have commuter van programs coordinated amongst employees.
