I'd reccomend the Cartoon Art Museum in SF (it is in the museum area by SF Moma)

A few more bars/night spots that give you a good sense of Oakland: Mua, Layover. Mua is @ 25th/Webster. Best Steak Frites ever.

Layover: it is 14th/Franklin (not far from 12th street BART). Fun drinks nice scene of a typical Oakland crowd (diverse and friendly)

Chop Bar: they have one of the best burgers around. It is near Jack Londond Square @ 4th/Alice.

I love Soi 4, if you are a chocolate fan, head to Bittersweet a few doors down and try the spicy hot coco.

If you feel like trying Berkeley style fast food, try Amanda's. It is basicall a healthy fast food place. Then head to Jupiter, another brewery. (this is near the previously mentioned Triple Rock)

If you want to get your foodie fix, head over to Adesso for late night happy hour. It is at 10:30 during the weekdays and 11 on the weekend. Free food. I repeat. Free food. And this means house cured salami and other meats. Good stuff. And you could order some other food as well. But you know free is a big draw. And they keep serving till the end of HH. This is on Piedmont Ave/Pleasant Valley in Oakland.

If it is clear, head over for a nigh cap at Paragon in the Claremont Hotel. Best view around. Oh and there is a really great gingerbread house in the lobby. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...NST51FVDMG.DTL

OK, I'M in SF and so far, the suggestions are good. Hopefully, I will be able to visit all of the sights. However, if anyone can tell me some spots/neighborhoods where there is a good nightlife, I'd really appreciate it.

I missed this thread. Didn't know you were here visiting. I'd to know where you visited when you were here and what your observations were. Hope you enjoyed the trip to the area and found it "enlightening."
