True... But at the same time - men here are typically pansyfied. I hear this all to often from women who are not originally from the Bay Area, and I definitely see it myself.

I've commented on this type of topic before in other threads so figure I'd continue the trend. I'm from Southern CA so my view of the dating scene might be skewed compared to those from other places. If you are an attractive woman (I understand attraction is subjective) in SF you basically can run the city when it comes to dating. Attractive women, well what I consider attractive, are in VERY limited supply and are almost ALWAYS taken and unavailable. I think the most common type of person you meet in the city is either a techie, hippy or hipster. Those types are not the alpha or type A personalities which explains a lot of why women see many of the men as being weak or "pansyfied" as the poster above put it.

If you are a good looking stylish woman, think the trendy LA type, you basically can date whoever you want in this city. I would assume the same goes for finding good looking men or the male of equivalent of what I described. Basically I think the dating scene in SF sucks plain and simple but that's my opinion though it seems to be a recurring theme so I feel it's not just me.

Isn't that what women here want? It seems like if you're not a scrawny white hipster then women don't want anything to do with you. I don't understand this market at all. Women bitching about not finding the right man, and yet stick to very unusual expectations.
