I wouldn't compare those areas of SF to the coliseum area though. I would compare comparable areas to one another. the area around the arena in Oakland is more clean than the comparable area around candlestick. The Presidio is not nearly as clean as an area like Grass Valley, or Redwood Heights. Not sure where Sea Cliff is so i can speak to that. SF downtown however is much more filthy than downtown Oakland, however i will give them some benefit of the doubt because it also has far more people on average in it than DTO which would account for the extra filth.

Why not Compare those area's to Bay View that's more logical you troll. LOL @ your asinine troll comparisons

Yes, Sea Cliff vs the Coliseum area---obviously that provides the greatest shock value. Boring and typical, and to be expected. They arent even witty anymore.

Well you commented:

I find the "dirt" to be more widespread in SF, in all types of neighborhoods (regardless of income level).
I don't think anyone can honestly say that. The dirty areas are mostly contained to city center. Sea Cliff, Presidio, and Outer Richmond are very clean. I've never heard "dirty" to describe them, so it's not as widespread as you make it seem.

Really? More clean? In what way? The coliseum area doesn't seem like it's been street cleaned in decades. Not to mention the rampant graffiti, and garbage. Just look at the BART station, it looks like a temporary shanty town from 1930s New York.

I'm not saying you're wrong (since this is all opinion anyway), but how are you quantifying "dirt" when you compare Candlestick to the area around the Oakland Coliseum?

Im not saying the area around the coliseum is clean, just more clean than around candlestick. Everything the coliseum suffers from exists around candlestick as well. I would agree that San Leandro Blvd is dirty but the side streets off of it are far more well maintained and clean than anything around the stick. 66th is actually pretty darn clean despite the poor community that surrounds it . This is also true for many of the side streets directly off of San Leandro Blvd in the area. Hegenburger I will give you is a mess. But not so much because its actually dirty as much as their are large empty parcels that give the impression of the area being less well kept.

True! DT SJ is a work in progress...... not quite a destination, but growing in the whole city feeling.

Downtown San Jose just doesn't have enough to do, and it's boring. I went there for a medical conference in 2003. We were staying at the Hilton on San Carlos St. Afterwards, me and a few colleagues tried to find a place to chat, and discuss the day, nothing around in walking distance. So we ended up just staying in the hotel.

Things may have changed since 2003, but I remember it being barren back then.
