Understandable! Drunk driving on the freeway is way more dangerous than doing so in low speed SF streets

Walnut Creek isn't exactly poor and also has problems with conspicuous consumption. Lamorinda has some major problems in this regard,
That's a lot of $4.00 toast.

wtf? I am just saying the area that's between Concord and Pleasanton, which so happens to be in that corridor that I-680 is in.

If you're talking about Downtown LA, then sure. But LA itself is not unfriendly to families. You should see all of the young hipster families moving into Eagle Rock, Glassel Park, Atwater Village, Los Feliz, etc. Glendale and Burbank have always been family-friendly.

Lots of cute little secluded cities and suburbs all around LA that are family-friendly such as Sierra Madre, Diamond Bar, the northern OC cities (Yorba Linda, Fullerton, Anaheim Hills), the San Gabriel Valley cities and the western suburbs like Thousand Oaks, Simi and Valencia. I don't need to mention the inland OC cities of Aliso Viejo and Irvine, but yeah...

Further out in the I.E. you've got Corona, Redlands, Yucaipa, Temecula, Chino Hills, Eastvale and Rancho Cucamonga -- all very family friendly.

In the Bay Area, I've always thought of the I-680 corridor (Pleasanton to Concord) as being family-friendly, as well as Novato, Santa Rosa and most of Sonoma County.
I wouldn't consider any area within the city of L.A to be family friendly, so that disqualifies Los Feliz and Atwater Village etc. (even though they're nice areas). Wouldn't consider Sierra Madre to be family friendly due to it being within the Pasadena school district. Those others you mentioned, yes. '

Keep in mind that neither Angelenos nor OC residents consider OC cities to be within the LA metro area or under the influence of LA - OC residents often hate LA like Bay Area and San Diego people do.

I just simply don't like those areas.

Walnut Creek is ok for my taste. and for conspicous consumption, all of the US sucks for that because it's inplanted in the culture to do so.

If that is the case it is probably better to be in the arse of penn, vs the heart of the 680 corridor, lol.

Yes, I agree, if I didn't say that I meant too, and fashion in LA is one of the things I like better about LA. High end fashion, the more expensive and outrageous and glamourous the better; it's ok, appreciated in LA. Fashion is trite, unimportant to the average San Franciscan unless it's youthful, cool and/or trendy then SF cares.
