The worst case outcome for SF would be to become like San Diego. Few jobs, expensive housing, and a lot of tourism. That's as bad as it could possibly get, barring a nuclear bomb or something that poisons the environment.

Have you ever been to Detroit? I have spent some time there; I'm from the Midwest. It is nothing like here. You will freeze your ass off in winter while here you'll be running around in short sleeves and sunglasses.

Detroit isn't stealing anything from Bay Area anytime soon.
