Thanks

I’m going to assume you never heard of Chase Center or the mobile app, for that matter. :-)

I'd be cautious using an ATM in that area, if you have another means of paying for things (i.e. credit card) I would opt for that route. This recent warning comes from Oakland PD, but this happens all around the Bay Area and especially in touristy areas and during holidays. Best wishes

Actually, this is in regard to an uptick in ATM robberies specific to Oakland (not ‘touristy areas’ in SF), per NBC news last month. However, there have been several armed robberies relative to Rolexes and other high-end watches in SF; one should stay alert, no doubt, but that goes without saying in any large city (as does bringing/carrying a minimal amount of cash on vacation).

Most people don’t use cash in their day-to-day living either; OP’s question is similar to asking where he/she can cash a traveler’s (or personal) check. :-)

It’s an odd question to ask a forum, to be sure. Did you actually doubt there would be several, particularly relative to Union Square/downtown? Keep in mind there are numerous other options as well i.e. your hotel or worst-case scenario, a couple bucks in fees.

That said, the logical thing to do is bring some cash with you (especially for tips); enjoy your vacation!

Don’t forget to check your hotel room safe if it has any stupid preset master key entry combinations like 1234, 0000 or anything simple like that.
