I applied for a job as a senior software engineer at VMWare 2 years ago. I was accepted, but ultimately turned down the offer. I'm not sure what I can offer other than interview advice, but if you think that would be helpful, feel free to PM me.

I use Glassdoor to check out reviews on companies. The
review for VMWare makes the place look pretty mediocre. A lot of comments say "It's not as good since the founders left." I knew a really good executive who joined them as VP in IT/Engineering and left after a year or so. I think it was related to some layoffs/re-orgs they did.
