I am a young single female in my 30's and thinking about relocating to San Francisco or Denver.

Which is better for social life, living expenses, and employment?

Some pros and cons about the cities would help me in my decision.

I would post the same question in the Denver forum too to get equally biased answers. I never lived in Denver but I visit several times a year. I like both cities; I think they're very different. Denver has a Midwest, middle America vibe with Texas intrusion. The Bay Area is very diverse compared to Denver. SF is a very dense urban city while Denver is easy to get around. I think social life in either city is up to the individual. I don't know Denver's employment situation but their cost of living is less than this area. I know this may come across snobbish but this area seems more sophisticated to me than Denver. It's equally appealing that Denver isn't, people seemed pretty casual.

Good luck, both are good picks.

San Fransisco bay far. Denver is a hell hole city. I had a friend from there and the animal police came and killed her dog because they did not like the breed it was. I am not kidding. Seriously, I would go to San Diego if you could, but San Fransisco is ten times better than Denver. I would even recommend Vegas or even Phoenix as alternatives. Denver is a straight Nazi city that you do not want to live in.

Edit: I received a DM regarding this post. I am an animal activist and that is what I referring to as being a Nazi city since Denver supports BSL. However, the city is not racist towards people, only animals.

Smile Which is better Denver or San Francisco?

Here is a little more information.

I am a bi-racial 30yr old female thinking about relocating to either San Francisco or Denver from Las Vegas,NV in the next 8 months. I am trying to get away from the desert (100 + degree weather) scene and move into a different environment (somewhere that receives rain). Currently working as a Senior Credit Analysts and hoping to transfer with the company but if I can't what is the job market like in both cities?

Traveled to both cities and I love the culture, attitude, uniqueness, and diversity each city offers, but having to choose between the two is becoming a headache.

Please Help!

Thanks.

It mainly comes down to preference. You probably need to provide more detail about what you are looking for because the two cities are different. One thing that is easily quantifiable is cost of living. If you move to SF, you will experience serious sticker shock in regards to cost of living because of the cost of housing (buying or renting). You need to decide if you want to pay the premium it costs to live here.

You should really spend extensive time in both, because personal opinions differ greatly, and only you can decide which is best for you. Maybe take vacation time in each city and really explore and get a feel for what is important to you?

I moved to Denver from NYC 8 months ago. I'm looking to move to Cali now. If you are really into endurance sports, then Denver is great. Denver is full of recreational sports, marathons, triathalons, etc; People here are obsessed with it.

I'm not into that stuff, so I'm easily getting bored. I've been here for 8 months and I feel like I've seen everything already.

But again, if you love an active lifestyle, Denver is a haven for that..otherwise, I advise you look elsewhere, which is why I'm trying to decide where in Cali would work for me
