Any home owners who earn well BUT STILL planning to move out of the Bay Area?

I was planning to settle here. I own a 4 bedroom house in San Jose, make ~$190k which is ok.
Recently I went on a vacation to Florida, I checked out some neighborhoods in Miami and also on Zillow. Talked to some people. Now in comparison the Bay Area seems like a boring desert with rude nerds, communists and uncivilized migrants everywhere. All anyone can talk about is their iphone, they eat boring burritoes or spicy asian food every day. People live for work here, live in million dollar cardboard boxes (I do too). In San Jose I have to wear a sweater in the summer for my morning and evening commute, cannot go to swim in the ocean nearby because the water is freezing cold. There are no interesting or funny people here, or wery rare, everyone has the exact same life story which is boring to hear the 10000th time.

I see posts about people moving out of the bay area, but usually it is based on the fact that they cannot afford to buy a house. I afforded to buy a house, but I could sell, and buy a 3x bigger/nicer house in the beautiful tropical landscaped Miami for the equity I have in my house now for cash. I dont like the cost of living here, but it is a smaller issue for me as I keep buying anything that I want. Finding a job outside of the BA would be harder, but may be possible, as I am an expert in a niche tech field (hardware related).

Am I the only one who is thinking on moving out for these reasons?

Eh, people move for all sorts of reasons, but ultimately for many of the same reasons you state. It's not always that they can't afford it, rather...they choose not to afford it because of the COL difference (which includes all the things you mentioned and are all related to value). Personally, I couldn't care less about the ocean/beaches (haven't been to one in over a decade). However, for some, that's a big deal. I don't buy the scenery nonsense as there are plenty of areas with scenery that are just as nice. Clearly in your case (Florida), you do have the beaches if that interests you.

Unfortunately, all these threads do are generate a bunch of people acting like 5 year olds (it's amazing the child-like behavior that exists on these forums), insulting whatever area you say you'd like to move to and try to insert a "higher than thou" attitude about how awesome it is here. It's quite silly and gets redundant. I have no idea why people take things that are just mathematical on many levels so personally, but they do. Admittedly, many of the things you are insinuating are generalizations and I'm sure you realize that not everyone is like this (but the COL part of your statement is factual and not really up for debate).

The future has been building here in Silicon Valley. I don't move. My work is meaningful. And I like my cardbox.

I have never met a communist in California in my long life here.

I doubt that you have, either, and you are a newcomer.

I'm not sayng there aren't any, but very few, and they aren't likely telling you.

Actually they brag about it daily. Cultural marxists, socialists, anarchists, people who wear CheGuevara (the Cuban communist mass murderer) t-shirts to work in the office, people who keep complaining about the evil white people in the lunch area with their friends... My former manager's manager rants about the evils of capitalism on Twitter quiet often. There are many.

I don't get why people want to change their life style if they can afford to live here. Yes.. you like the beach, but hurricane there happen every year. Cost of electric bill going $500/ month or more. Nothing is perfect. Unless you retire. But I see couple retired and moved out to other place cheaper. But their kids are all working here. Unfortunately they did not sell their house here (no mortage) but rent it out. They lived ok with additional rental income of $3500. But as they get older and weaker, they moved back to SJ, closer to their kids. And of course, they did not understand why they have 1.5M value of the house.

No. Maybe you are living in a safe space where everyone thinks like you, or just not many people are in the same office with you. Commies are almost everywhere. If you managed to separate yourself from them, then it gives you the false sense that they don't exist or they don't affect you in any way, but that is temporary as they slowly conquer everything.

Houses are advertised on Zillow with disclosing electricity cost of air conditioning, typically ~ $180/mo in Miami.

OP to answer your original question, very few people who "earn well" are moving out. When you move from a tier 1 world city global tech capital to a tier 3 backwater (soon to be underwater...) city, there's really a big difference in the culture and community.

The word "communist" means "a person who supports or believes in the principles of communism". There are very few actual communists in the Bay Area. In fact, the Bay Area is the center of American creativity, wealth, and capital, and the best capitalists in the world (many who have created hundreds of billions of dollars of wealth in just a few years) live here. I'd say the Bay Area is the least communist place in the USA, if not the world.

I think what you meant by "communist" was "a person who supports equality, civil rights, and fairness for all people". In that case, yes, there are lots of communists here in the Bay Area, I think you don't fit in and Miami might be a good fit for you.
