Last week while visiting Sarasota I was looking for housing for my anticipated move to the area. As I was leaving Heron's Run Apartments (turning onto Fruitville Rd) I saw a severely injured man laying on the sidewalk. From what I could tell, he fell face first off his bicycle onto the sidewalk. I was the first to approach him (while my friend called 911) but in a very short time, several cars stopped and people, including medical personnel, offered their assistance. The police and paramedics were there within minutes and I'm hopeful he had a full recovery! I was very impressed with the compassion shown by those who stopped and with the quick response time of the emergency personnel. I will be proud to call Sarasota home, hopefully soon!
