If we find a home in the Englewood area, does anyone have any idea what it may cost to have a pool put in? I know there is alot of different factors for a cost, but just looking for a general guesstimate.

I'd guess somewhere between $30-40K for a typical pool. Obviously, the larger it is, the larger the apron, and the more features (heated, spa, waterfall, etc.) the more it will cost. I think a nicely tricked out pool might be more on the order of $60-70K. Call a few places. They'll come out and give you an estimate and a drawing.

I would say, if you don't want anything really fancy, you could estimate about $30-35k.

We just had a pool installed 6 months ago without a cage and paid $28. With the cage it would have been $35k. $30 to $40k is a good range depending on your options for a pool with a screen enclosure. I have a couple of pool companies that I highly recommend - Fulton Pools, Port Charlotte and Grant Pools, Port Charlotte. I have used both of them and have been very satisfied with every step of the way. The price, the communication, the work.

We just had one put in three weeks ago. 13 x 25 salt pool, 37' x 22' cage, with solar heating, sun shelf, bench seat with 4 spa jets, 2 water-streaming deck jets (for the kid of course), and 2-speed pump (energy savings). $27,000.
Places are hungry for business. When you get quotes, talk them down! We got everything we wanted and over $6,000 knocked off the original price.
For a "bare-bones" package, $19-22,000. Good luck

I see a pool company on 41 advertising $20k for a pool. I'm guessing that is bare bones though.

I've recommended Casa Pools several times and the people have all been pleased with their work. I think the Sunshine's who post here used them as well.

Thanks everyone, this gives me a better idea of what we are doing. Hoping to be down your way in May and start looking and hopefully get a home.

give you a tip. ask for referrals. then ask to see the pool. the speak to the homeowner and ask if they would use that guy again.

up north we did a pool and asked for referrals. he said he would do one better and take us to see a couple. he did. unknown to us, one was his daughters. it was beautiful. he took us to another and i think was surprised the homeowner was home. he ran over to her and they talked. rather he talked and she walked away towards the house. couldnt hear what was said. turned out the guy did a decent job on the pool but was a butt hole to deal with. his daughter who was the president of the company was nuts. they could not tell the truth on anything. everything was a big story and lie. so i guess the point is do your homework. we had ours done down here by a guy that my friend who is a contractor knows. not a problem at all.
