so as to not make this political i will be careful not to mention any particular party. it is more of a civility nature.

venice high has 2 political clubs. after school today one of them went along side an intersection for the purpose of waving signs for the canidate that their club endorses. one would think that people should appreciate teens being involved in the process regardless of party. well not so. with the kids just waving signs and nothing more since they were already warned about it and the wrong message it would send for them to do any thing else, senior citizens drove by giving them the middle finger. real class act those seniors were. thats showing them kids tolerance.

i hate and despise the canidate opposite my choice. i have never hated a politician as much as i do him but would never think of being of such low class to do that especially to a bunch of kids.

yeah, that's not cool at all.

this sign went up on a block not far from me. Just in time for all the Trick-or-Treaters to learn a nice new word :\ More mature adults, huh?

Wow shooting the finger to kids really isn't very mature is it. Now that sign? I kind of like it but not around kids, although most of them know more cuss words than truck drivers.

It was a good learning experience for the teens...to learn that politics can stir up anger/emotions from some people. You never know who, when or if this will occur.

Years ago when someone asked my grandmother if they could put a political sign in her front yard, she said "No. I don't want someone to throw a brick through my window."

My husband just told me that 2 old dudes on opposite sides of the political aisle got into an argument on the tennis courts about their candidates and one hauled off and punched the other. This is a very polarizing election.

agreed they will learn how nasty things can get and that they do have some mouths on that but its pretty ironic when kids come home and say guess what some old people did today. i teach my boys to be respectful. kind of hard when these were not acting the part worthy of respect.

Think it shows the mindset of many voters--
They don't respect the free speech part of the Constitution very much because they have such rabid hatred for a candidate...
And those kids probably know all about that because it happened in last election too--with some voters who felt particular animosity to a candidate...
We were in FL in November during last election and saw plenty of people showing bad manners in that respect...

i think it goes beyond politics. We have lost the ability to respect someone else's person, beliefs, and actions. There is no civility anymore..except perhaps at Publix

its good to get into a debate and maybe even an argument on what will ultimately effect all of us. going by kids and flipping the bird proves nothing but idiocity. the kids actually were laughing at them. even if they were adults out there and there was finger waving and obscenities yelled it proves nothing. why not stop and get into a discussion if you feel so strongly. you never know just might convince them to jump ship.
