If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, there are a variety of events in Sarasota and Bradenton this weekend. Here are a few:

Always popular St. Armands Circle art festival is Saturday, 10 am - 3 pm.

Bradenton is also having an art festival called Art Slam at the new Riverwalk Park in downtown Bradenton on Saturday from 12 pm to 10 pm, featuring art, performers and musicians.

The Sarasota medieval fair starts this weekend at the Sarasota fairgrounds. Tickets are required. Featuring knights, ladies in waiting, court jesters, celtic music, turkey legs and ale.

If you love pizza, the Sarasota pizza wars will take place on Saturday at the Potter building at the Sarasota fairgrounds, 11 am to 3 pm. Vote for your favorite pizza. There will also be a SWAT obsticle course for the kids to try.

Also running this weekend is the Siesta Key Crystal Classic sand scupting competition by 20 master sculptors from around the country. The competition takes place south of the pavillion, tickets $5 or buy a $10 event pass.

If you're willing to cross the Skyway Bridge, the 23rd annual Ribfest takes place this weekend in Vinoy Park in downtown St. Pete. Some of the best BBQ ribbers in competition, plus lots of live music, a car show and events for kids. Saturday's bands include Santana and Heart. If you're a baby boomer, you'll know who these 2 groups are. Tickets are $20/adults at the gate, food & beverages are extra. Proceeds help local charities. Great event if you've never been and the St. Pete bayfront is a beautiful location.

So wish I could enjoy such superb Sarasota events this weekend, but alas it's looking like another cold, dark rainy fall weekend in WI again. A good weekend to finally watch a couple of football games on TV. At least the temps are not supposed to be below freezing if I need to venture out!

Yes, saw many dogs at St. Armands yesterday and today. Quite a nice art show. I found several things for our new house... I'm sure my husband regretted bringing the SUV instead of the two-seater sportscar with the tiny trunk. LOL!

My awesome wife took our two very young (18 mos and 5 mos) children to the Medievel Fair, and she said it was absolutely perfect. The characters were all very respectful and fun, and the patrons were not collectively insane or anything.

Apparently, an excellent time was had by all.

You're welcome. I love winters in our area and all of the events that run thru the fall - spring months, especially the outdoor events where we can also enjoy the beautiful weather. So I always check each week to see what events are coming up and thought others on this forum might be interested in the info too. I appreciate the positive feedback.
