Looks like the subject of 'pizza' with many pages of comments within the last year has not been addressed enough in the Sarasota-Bradenton-Venice area.

I am not taking the bait. Rumor has it, I talk far too much about restaurants in general, and pizza in particular.

Use the search function. PLENTY of info.

Agreed! LOL!!!

P.S. Just discovered a FABULOUS new frozen pizza! I know, I know.... anyway, it's from "Home Run Inn" outta Chicago, and it's unbelievable for a frozen pie. Anyway, I think so! Less than $5 at Sweetbay (the only place they are sold) Love the ultra-thin crust. Honest-to-God, better than anything I have eaten in a restaurant here at 4 times the price.

Totally agree. Home Run Inn Pizza - frozen - is great. They have thin crust which is great and also what they call Classic, which is also thin crust, and that is also great. The classic is a bit thicker crust and has more cheese and sauce and meat, but still thin crust by all means. The sauce is good, the crust is good, the cheese is good and their meats are good. Every ounce of that pizza is great. Most Sweetbays have them and I found them in one or two Publix, but it was $1more at Publix vs Sweetbay.

It true Chicago pizza and is as good as going to a pizzeria in Chicago for it.

If you don't want frozen, there is a good Pizza restaurant in Ft Myers caled Aurelio's. They are based on Chicago and have one location in Ft Myers. But the frozen Home Run Inn Pizza is slightly better, IMO.

I have been tempted to buy the Home Run Pizza since the pepperoni is uncured and my teenage boys tend to like the "cured" meats too much.....Next thing on my grocery list!!!

As a New Yorker, I prefer NY pizza, although I do like Chicago pizza, which is more like Naples, ITALY, pizza. When my Italian Grandma made pizza, she put everything but the kitchen sink on it. No, it wasn't that real thin crisp pizza either. That really ISN'T NY pizza. That is the tourist, not Italian neighborhood pizza.
