So, I found a stray black kitten and rescued it from the great outdoors of Myakka, teeny thing, all alone. I have three adult cats and a large hound dog and I am a responsible pet owner but do not want another cat..

You can also put a notice up on the bulletin board inside the entrance at Petsmart in Bradenton. There is another group in Bradenton that finds homes for cats and dogs, will have to look it up and get back to you. But please don't just abandon the little guy. If nothing else pans out, take him to the Bradenton Humane Society on 14th St.

Anyway, sad to say this, but I was told that black cats are very difficult to adopt out (this was from an animal rescue in Pasco County where I used to live. I hope that if you can't find a solution you will just keep him. Bless you for rescuing him. I have rescued many in my life even when I already had too many.

Yes, thanks all..I have tried all those shelters and due to the raid at Napiers all are full. We were able to leave him with our vet who took him in

Trap-neuter-return - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia . I have 3 black feral cats that I have rescued and had them fixed via our Humane Society program. I rescue lost/abandoned/feral cats in my area. They didn't ask to be in their situation, and they are living creatures. My better half says I attract an lost animal. Almost had a baby seal show up here one year - she blames my "Eat at Doug's" sign on the roof LOL
