If any of you have been to Daytona, or I guess really Port Orange, you may know Auntie Catfish. Great restaurant! We were over there last year but are here now and a relative who is visiting wants to go to something like that. Last night he suggested Red Lobster which I voted down immediately since I know there's local places with much better seafood. We've been to Anna Maria Oyster Bar but want ideas of other places. Auntie Catfish had a salad bar and a "fixin' bar" plus good seafood. Anything like that in the Bradenton-Sarasota area? Thanks!

since you know there's local places with much better seafood, why don't you go with your own experience instead of relying on unknown strangers with unknown tastebuds. That said, madfish grille, lucky pelican Bills seafood? by the airport, north on 41, two or three places over on cortez, etc. etc. etc.

Thanks for the ideas. I don't think it takes much to know there are local seafood places that will be better than Red Lobster but knowing what they are, or if by any chance there is someone out in CDland that knows of one similar to one on another coast is a different animal. Our only local experience so far is Anna Maria Oyster Bar and after three times there we want to check out other places. Think it's time to go check out Yelp.
