It's time once again for the list of events going on in and around the Bradenton - Sarasota - Venice area this weekend. Quite a variety of things to do & weather predictions are for sunny & hot flip flop weather.



FRIDAY

Wine Tasting -- free samples & snacks at Grapes, 3004 US Hwy 301 in Ellenton, 5 - 8 pm, for ages 21 & up.

Friday Fest at the Van Wezel -- free admission to this live music concert, food & drink vendors on site, no outside coolers or food but can bring lawn chairs, 5 - 9 pm.

Live Music in the Park -- at Payne's Park Cafe, food available to purchase starting 6 pm, live music 7 - 9 pm, free admission, lawn chairs welcome.

Friday Night Free Music -- Venice's Centennial Park at the gazebo, 7 - 9 pm.



FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Gulf Coast Octoberfest -- at Geir's Sausage Kitchen, Westfield Sarasota Square Mall in the JC Penney parking lot, 11 am - 8 pm, live music 2 - 6 pm. $2/person.



FRIDAY - SUNDAY

Fisherman's Village Pirate Fest in Punta Gorda -- vendors, pirate flotilla & invasion, other activities. Friday noon - 6 pm, Saturday 10 am - 8 pm, Sunday 11 am - 5 pm. Free admission but $2/person contribution is welcome. Adults only pirate ball Friday 8 - 11 pm.



SATURDAY

Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.

Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.

Bradenton Farmers Market -- downtown historic Bradenton, 9 am - 2 pm.


Museum Day -- free admission to several local museums!
Ringling (all venues)
Historic Spanish Point
South FL Museum, 201 10th St W in Bradenton

International Latino Festival -- Lakewood Ranch's Main street, 11 am - 7 pm, free admission, Latin food & dance, vendors.

Mixon Fruit Farms Arts & Crafts Festival -- lots of vendors, tours of Mixon Farms in Bradenton, 10 am - 3 pm. Info at wwww.mixon.com.

Free Family 5K Walk/Run at Nokomis Beach -- starts 8 am, Nokomis Beach. All family members welcome, no registration fees, healthy snacks afterwards.

Venice Beach Party -- food & beer vendors, music, large tent, lawn chairs ok but leave coolers & pets at home, 3 - 8 pm, south parking lot.

Siesta Key Triathlon -- professional competition, free for spectators. Swim, bike, run. Benefits Sarasota YMCA Sharks Swim Team. Starts at 7:30 am.

Repti Day -- everything you want to know about reptiles. 10 am - 5 pm at the Potter Building, Sarasota County Fairgrounds, $12/adult, $5 child 5 - 12, under age 5 get in free.

Mystical Bazaar -- psychics to predict your future, healers, aura readers, other vendors. $5/person, 11 am - 5 pm, Sarasota Municipal Auditorium.

Oktoberfest Party -- Mandeville Beer Garden, 428 N. Lemon in downtown Sarasota, 11 am - 1 am, German cuisine & beer, music.



SATURDAY & SUNDAY

FL Gun Show -- Bradenton Area Convention Center in Palmetto, $10/person, Saturday 9 am - 5 pm, Sunday 10 am - 5 pm.



SUNDAY

Bridge Street Market --great farmers market option on Anna Maria Island, 10 am - 3 pm.

Siesta Key Farmers Market -- Siesta Village Plaza, 8 am - 2 pm.

Siesta Key Drum Circle -- just before sunset at Siesta Key public beach, everyone welcome.


Sarasota's Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Team performs their water ski show at 2 pm. Behind Mote Marine at 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy.




UPCOMING EVENTS

Worth mentioning: Sept 30 - Oct 2 the super boats race at Clearwater Beach, seafood festival, lots of partying all weekend long.

Thank you very much Sunshine Rules - for letting us know about free museum day - last year we went to Spanish Pointe - now we are going to the Ringling - I had only been to the free part on Monday- now it seems I can see it all for free

You cannot see all of it free. The museum and the circus section is free. Ca' d'Zan is free to see on the first floor...To go to the second floor its $20/person. To go to the 3rd floor and more is $30/person
