Hi Everyone, It appears that Manatee County is growing quickly along US 301. From Ellenton to Parrish there is so much new development. Plans for a Walmart and high school are underway. What else is going to be planned for this area? Wish the county would purchase the land in this area to control the speed of development.

A new high school has been announced. It will be in the Parrish area but some current students of Lakewood Ranch High will be moving to the new school district per school board announcement this past week.

Wow its about time. Parrish has had nothing going on for awhile. But you know.. I see Parrish as an extention of Sarasota more than Myakka City. It seems to be the place that everyone who wanted to live in Sarasota or has lived in Sarasota moves if they want more house for the money and to be closer to Tampa area. In fact I wouldnt be surprised if some from South Sarasota, the rednecky types wanted to move to Parrish in one of those subdivisions. I never travel up to Ellenton/Parrish area these days.. Theres no reason to. People may be a little friendlier than Sarasota, but not by much.
