A study issued by Robert Weisberg at USF claimed that ocean currents were the main cause of the 2018 red tide outbreak. Weisberg said his computer models were accurate at predicting future red tide outbreaks, and he would be issuing a 2019 red tide prediction in June. Has anyone seen Weisberg's 2019 prediction?

Well, no red tide yet, but there's always the flesh eating bacteria. Again, "naturally occuring".Of course Only people with compromised immune systems are susceptible. Yeah right, Tell that to the 12 year old who had a healed over scraped toe and lost part of her calf from infection. Or the poor woman who retired to Ellenton and took a walk along Coquina beach in Anna Maria and scraped her leg (all of of 3/4 of inch scrape) and died within two weeks from the infection and eventual sepsis.
The whole "open wound" thing is ridiculous to. Little one's could have a scraped knee. Some guy had a knick shaving and got it. You could have plucked your eyebrows or shaved your legs. These are so called "open wounds". Could pretty much be anyone then. Anyone with a brain and an actual freakin' open wound is not going to go in the water.
Now it has been reported it is in the sand. There were so many fish kills from the red tide and the decaying bacteria lurks not only in very warm gulf waters, but also in the sand where the decomposing fish are.
Yep, just where you want your grandchildren playing. It's beginning to be a real sh*t show.
We have always been in the gulf in August when waters are at their warmest, and this was never the concern it is currently. It is much more of a concern since the devastation wreaked by the long lasting red tide and the damage it did to the gulf waters.

Good for you. Then don't move here. Simple. there is no "environmental disaster" in Florida. Talk about hyperbolic, leftist fear mongering.

Thanks. You are probably operating with more information than me. I hope this is fear mongering.

I'll eventually figure out the truth.

I just read an article yesterday that said the ENTIRE STATE OF FLORIDA WOULD BE COMPLETELY UNDERWATER in 50 years. It was written in 1972. That's 3 years from now, HAHAHAHA!
