Could not do anywhere in Florida on the east coast. West coast makes me feel closer to home for some reason, more midwesterns I believe then the east coast. Miami is cool to visit but it’s way too congested.

OP never stated what he did for a living; if he needs a roommate, he can't afford Sobe/women walking.

If I were 30, and wanted to remain in Florida, I'd move to Tampa, or Downtown St. Pete, to be near other 30 year olds. Sarasota's younger, and more vibrant than Naples, but still oldsville.

ardijon...did a coconut fall onto your head?

Chicago's too expensive, overcrowded, and c-c-c-cold. Chicago's also broke, and so is Illinois. The stuff's going to hit the fan there soon. https://www.city-journal.org/html/ch...orm-16102.html Oh, and the crime, and the ever-increasing taxes. Pass on Chicago. There are plenty of good reasons for the Illinois exodus. When those government Pension checks stop, there will be riots in the Chicago streets...like they had in Athens Greece.

The OP needs to stay in Florida, move to Tampa or St. Pete, and watch out for falling coconuts

I know the landscaping and cleanliness Naples offers is a high standard and Sarasota might be a few levels below in that aspect, no offense intended, however it might make up in other aspects.

Naples has me spoiled just how convenient it is to roll up to its many beach access points and go for a swim, many of the times I’m at the beach less then an hour, I don’t make a whole day activity of it. Where’s the best access points in Sarasota? Say I’m living within a few miles of downtown. I know it won’t be as convenient Naples but what’s the most convenient?

Also is the general population pretty young or does it still have an older snow bird vibe?

Any personal positive or negative things you have to add please do!

have you ever thought to come back to chicago???
im thinking to move to naples but not 100% sure...

Not on my worst enemy would I suggest moving to South Beach.

It's such a ratchet $hit hole.

I have a wealthy friend who just left South Beach. He sold his condo for ~$1.5M and moved to Key West. He said South Beach near Lincoln Road (where he hung out) has gone downhill. I think he'll be bored after 1-2 years in Key West and move again...to Delray Beach's Atlantic Ave. area. He's not a drinker, but likes the nightlife, so I think he'll tire of seeing all the drunks in Key West. Naples is too Conservative for him. I hope he finds his happy place.

It would be hard NOT to like Sarasota more than Naples.

I'm from KW. I've only been back a handful of times since I was 18. It's OK to visit but living there is hell, and I am told getting a lot worse. I don't even visit unless it's something I can't get out of.
