Hi, I read your post with interest. We have a Great White Pyrenees, you could find a more gentle, quyiet, kind loving dog anywhere. We do not have a fenced yard and she is happy as a clam in our smallish house with lots of walks outside and toy throwing by us inside. They are the best. There is a rescue society which is where we got ours from and they are wonderful. Please feel free to contact me for more information if interested. Mary at misstampamom@comcast.net

Check out animal control the cost is less than a rescue group. Human Society has strict requirements too. They might be concerned about your child being so young.

Here is a link to Hillsborough county.. The weim mix there is young, weims are great family dogs, but you do have to train them. They love water and will swim for hours. They have to put down so many animals..their requirements should be more flexible.

Which appartment do you live in that allows big dog? I have not yet seen one of those before around Sarasota.
Sawgrass COve in Bradenton allows large dogs, there are tons there rotwiellers, Shepards.. but the place is a dump!

Thanks for the input everyone. We have decided to hold of on the new addition for now. We have decided to move to another complex where there is a pet restriction. We've been discussing it and it's just the right thing to do. It's probably best we wait till our little one is bit bigger too!

Good choice not to get a dog right now, especially how unstable your living conditions are. Your first focus should be to save money so you can move into a home with a yard for your child and then possibly a dog. It seems you have enough on your plate in your life right now.

Hi,
Personally, Dog Rescue for each breed, I think this is the best way to adopt a dog and a lot of people don't know this available. These dogs are taken to the Vet to be checked out and then into someone's home (foster care for dogs) until an adoption placement is found.
