Thanks for being so welcoming! Hopefully we are feeling the sunshine soon!
Allergies are awful in Florida, sorry to tell you but this isn't the place for people who have allergies. Many who have never had problems(myself included) suffer down here.

You actually see the pollen after it rains here in the puddles and on the cars.

I think it really depends upon what you are allergic to. My wife had a substantial drop in allergy problems when we moved here, and has had far fewer problems with her asthma since we left OK (and all the cotton gins and wheat fields).

My dad had a much better time with his allergies after leaving OK as well. Last year he started having bad problems with his allergies again after 15 years here, and was told that he had developed new allergies.

I have to disagree.. I never have a problem in FL but if I go N. in the spring and fall I have terrible allergies.

Just because it happens to you doesn't mean it will happen for someone else,

I think the point is no one can tell you if you are going to suffer with allergies if you move to FL. I have lived in FL 30 years and never had a problem with allergies. Does that mean that you won't, nope

I think the real point should be that if you move away from the source of your allergies, the symptoms will go away. Unfortunately the possibility of developing new ones to new sources is very real. It just takes a while for your system to build up the new allergies. With the extended growing season down here it becomes a real problem for some people.
Here's both sides of the argument:
