Hello,

Some of you have been very friendly with me, and I want to give an update.

All of a sudden I found a very interesting contact who already helped me a lot, but.... in Tampa . I should play an important role in his association, volunteering at the start, but allowing me to make many more contacts.

I spent so many months in the Sarasota forum!!! Sigh....

I don't know yet where I will end up, and the lawyer I will meet is in Sarasota. But I need to be close to my contact, so I would like to know if some of you could help me to find a small apart/condo/etc... around Tampa (Clearwater...) in a nice and safe area, close to supermarkets or tell me here to go (I find the Tampa forum less friendly than this one ). It needs to be furnished and equipped, that would be for 3 months, for the start.

Thank you so much. it is rather urgent, I have planned to leave on March 6, arriving around March 15 (driving).

Some parts of Clearwater are OK, some are not. The further north you get in Pinellas County, the better. Dunedin is pretty nice, but it borders a pretty bad area of Clearwater. Palm Harbor is further north and nice. I like Safety Harbor. Once you get south of US 60 there are some good areas, but few and far between. Seminole is a good area, but surrounded by not so good. On the extreme southern end of the county is Boca Ciega and Pass-a-Grill, both very nice (if you can afford them). The bottom line is this anything north of US60 is probably OK. Anything south may be OK, but you would need to check it out.

Allwyna,

Here is a site I found a while ago. They look like they can find something that will fit for you in number of areas.

Florida Property Manager | Florida Homes For Rent | Florida Rental Listings | Property Management

Good Luck!
Hope you have a safe trip! Drive safely - not like that SoFLGal - In other words, drive the speed limit, watch out for others, be polite, stay on the road, don't back over anyone after you ran them over - things like that. Or, was that her mom?!?! OK

And don't pick up any drunken fisherman, cuz it might be me.
BH

-Just kidding SoFLGal! Just kidding!!

Hello,

Thanks a lot.

Are you sure I can't pick up anyone on the road??? Because in your link there is nothing in Tampa, Clearwater, Bellair... Only one in St Pete, too big and much too expensive. And it is only for 3 months. A fisherman could at least shelter me . Hmmm... A boat, not too bad

What should I do then? Lie down in a field??? Provided the weather warms up!

And I have learned (is it in this site??? ) that I have to get my gun ready at all times. Does SoFLGal do that too?

If you only need it for 3 months and you need it furnished look for an Extended Stay Hotel (that is the name of the chain). All rooms have a small kitchen with a fridge, stove, dishes, etc.

It is still season here, and spring break approaches. You will have a hard time finding a rental for 3 months unless you know someone with a vacant place.

We just finished staying at Candlewood Suites - Clearwater for the last 9 weeks. We used a special rate that doesn't seem to be available right now. But they have a sign out front that advertises that they have monthly rates. I would suggest calling and talking to their manager. Candlewood Suites has rooms with a stove top, full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, dishes, silverware, and pans. It seemed safe --- mostly business people and snowbirds stay there.

OK, that wasn't me. That was my mom. We got pulled over by the cops when we were showing wawannabe property. I told her to slow down and she breezed right by a cop. She only got a warning though. And the was over a year ago!
