Any thoughts on this? Is it big or just a quant festival on the river? Coming in for a 24 hour getaway next weekend and noticed it on the tourism website. Thought I would get some thoughts in here from the locals. THANKS

If you're from FL, a seafood festival in Savannah would not be very exciting...maybe more oysters and shrimp. I don't think its very big, but if it just happens to be the festival of the weekend while you're here, its as good a reason as any to eat your way down River St. with a beer in your hand. There'll be music and good people watching, so I'm sure you'd enjoy it. If you get bored, you can wander away from the river and shop of eat at about a thousand other places within a few blocks.

cool thanks. We'll at least walk through it and if it doesn't excite, head up the bluff.

As far as seafood festivals go, it's pretty lame. The "seafood" is overpriced and nothing to get excited about. The music, art, etc that geos along with it is definitely more of an attraction than the "seafood." The Waterfront Association does one of these festivals at least once a month; this one just happens to be "seafood." The next will be something else. They are all pretty much the same
