I still think it would get on the ballot when you look at the map.

Thanks for the link to the map. Looking at the map you're right; A TSPLOST does have a chance of getting on the ballot. If it does get on the ballot, the TSPLOST in its current form is only good for 5 years. So city and county officials would to be picky with what projects they would want to pursue.

How many times does one have to repeat it: The Truman Pkwy will never be extended into South Carolina, ever. South Abercorn, already a traffic hazard, would be choked with commercial traffic, as would DeRenne, Montgomery Cross Road, and other feeders. The engineering and environmental impact caused by the construction of a Talmadge-like super-span over the Savannah would nip any such grandiose dreams in the bud. The sheer costs involved are prohibitive.

The metro area would have to be pushing 2 to 3 million people before this happens.

Totally agree. The outlay of funds alone is suited to that population range.

Looks like tolls aren't on the table...
Truman Parkway maintenance agreement doesn't include tolls - WSAV

If a bomb goes off, you’re not gonna have time to scream, run to your car, and drive frantically anywhere, much less to the Truman..

Ugh. Tolls. I wouldn't be able to afford to go to work as it would take me so much longer going through all the neighborhoods to get to West Gwinnett from Southside. It would eat up my gas.

I remember when Richmond, VA had those tolls on parts of I-95. 10 cent tolls. Or 25 cents depending on where it was in the city. It was a royal pain. And it was finally done away with, guess because they paid off that portion.

The leaders here would find themselves out of their bubble if they did implement tolls. A lot of our school buses use it-how would they get around to all these schools the kids go to otherwise. How would the district pay for it too? It's an idea that I think is going to sink very fast.

Republicans like Hernandez seem to love "broaden the base" types of taxes like fire fees, sales tax, SPLOST and tolls. So us in the middle class pay more. And tolls would slow the roads down, arg. On the other hand, deferred maintenance does cost more though. maybe they can buy a study on finance. Half-kidding. No worries though, as they say down here this'd go over like a fart in church!

It would have made sense to toll the thing when they were building it, like the state did for Ga 400 north of Atlanta, but now that it’s finished .... no.

There might be some other possibilities for toll roads in the area, however ... such as an east-west connector to relieve DeRenne.
