I've just gotten a job opportunity in a Savannah public school. I've heard horrible things about Savannah schools, but there a lot of people who think that about any public school in the US.

I'm not concerned about teaching at any school. I'm EXTREMELY concerned with finding the right school for my children ages 10, 5, & 2. I want to know that I get them started in the right district and they have the best schools all the way up to high school. I don't have any idea where to live for them to be safe at all times. This is a very stressful situation b/c I've heard so many horrific things about the area. I need to hear from people with families or people you know with familes that have experienced Savannah-Chatham Co life.

I want my family to be safe and well educated Is that possible in Savannah?

Take a few minutes and read some of the recent posts on Savannah. There are quite a few links on the better schools in the area.

Effingham County schools are supposed to be good. It has become a sleeper community for Savannah for those wanting better schools and a more suburban lifestyle.

The Chatham County School Board is going through a fierce power struggle. If you don’t mind being in the middle of the nonsense by all means go. If you can, keep up with current events there before making the move.
