What are some technologies that are feasible in the next 20 years?
I have one concept that makes sense. Satellite-controlled cars is that feasible?
Two things always come to mind when I think of future technologies.
One: those pesky electrical cords we have in our homes. I think that fairly soon a sort of "bluetooth" technology will happen, where everything--like your toaster, TV, PC, stereo, washer & dryer, table & floor lamps, etc. will be connected to the home's power supply via a wireless system.
Two: Video technology. 3D will become commonplace, and you won't need to wear the goofy glasses. And after 3D, the next innovation will be what I call "hologram TC." Instead of a flat screen, the TV monitor will be a sort of recessed box, mounted on the wall, and movies and sports and such will take on a real three-dimensional quality, as opposed to the simulated type we now have on a one-dimensional scree.
Further: movies will become interactive. You will be able to wear a set of goggles, or maybe a type of helmet, that will let you view a movie through the eyes of one of its characters. For example, you could see what Bruce Willis' John McClain was seeing when he was fighting all the baddies in "Die Hard."
Stem Cell and Gene therapy technologies for the cure of Spinal Cord Paralysis, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Muscular Dystrophy and possibly even for Rabies infection .
In 20 years I hope to be playing video games that look just as real as any movie today, though I'm also worried about the possibility the real world will end up looking a lot like "Fallout" instead.
