Improvements in battery technology have lessened the need for power cords for things like power tools, and wifi has freed us from the constraints of cables for laptops and smartphones. Bluetooth has also provided cord-free service for personal devices. But how much longer do we have to mess with power cords for lamps, stereos, TVs, and other home appliances? I figured by now we would have "plug-in free" electrical recepticals in our homes that could emit an electrical signal to its recipient device, which would have a tranceiver-type module attached to them.
My frustration with cables and cords is exacerbated every time I find myself wrestling with the spaghetti nest behind my home entertainment center!
