Dh, kiddos and I are moving to the Magnolia area of Seattle in mid-April and need some insight. Oldest DD (6) is in kindy at a private school and would have finished the year in mid-May. We figured it wouldn't hurt her to have an extra month of review and some time to get to know her new school, classmates and teachers so we're moving into new digs 4 weeks earlier than planned. I suppose I could keep DD out of school a week or two after we move to go and visit these places but I'd like her to get back into the swing of things as quickly as possible.

DD's a bright girl, very loving and affectionate- a caretaker. This will be a big transition for her as she's had small (18 or less) class sizes since, well, forever. We also have a boy (3) who is highly gifted and need a school that can (hopefully) meet both their needs.

Does anyone have any insight into the McClure cluster's elementary schools? (Lawton, John Hay, Coe, Catharine Blaine and Queen Anne)

Also, any thoughts on public elementary schools nearby such as BF Day and Stanford??
