and I am very confused as to why. It seems like there are many people who jumped on the bandwagon for purely financial gain (to sell pot) and there has not been much movement (that I can see) in getting stores open. Can someone explain in easy terms why this is so? I understand there are regulation issues, but having Colorado as an example, it seems like it would be easier for Washington. Also, is it just Seattle or the whole state of Washington that is (will be ) able to sell pot?

Remind me of the rules ..age to purchase, can you smoke in public, etc.

Here's all I know:
There were many more applicants than they expected, and not the staff to process them, which means doing background checks, and making sure each location was at least 1000 feet from a park, school, or playground.
I think you have to be 21, and you cannot smoke in public( not that people won't, but it won't be legal.)
It will be statewide, but some towns can choose not to participate.

While it's illegal people smoke it in public now, without being cited, I see (and smell) them every day near the Market. They may crack down now that cruise season is here and the tourists start to notice. Store opening dates will depend on a lot of things, including continued legal issues.

I've seen plenty of cruise tourists at the market partaking in the stuff. When in Rome!
