I love the rain, and supposedly it rains a lot. And I like that. But that's not the reason. I have family that's close by. Not the point.
1. Is there a lot to do? I like Skating and Swimming. There's at least that, right?
2. What does a one bedroom apartment cost? In a good neighborhood. Or at least a decent neighborhood.
3. Are cockroaches a problem? I hear people in cities complain about this a lot! I just don't wanna wake up and find I'm living in the movie Joe's Apartment.

1) Yes. Yes,
2) New construction: $1800-$2000; older apartments: $1000-$1200
3) No. But there are a fair number of spiders and rats. Watch out for the Hobo Spider! (although it's mostly in more rural areas near Seattle)

Relegate answered everything. It's pretty awesome here but expensive. Not London expensive but increasing.

Liberal marijuana laws: awesome, dude.

1. No, in a metro area of 3.5 million there is nothing to do.
2. There is very little "affordable" housing near where professionals might want to live, see Amazon thread. Difficult, though not impossible to find. Or so they say.
3. Ask Joe?

There's a lot of pigeons and I like pigeons. When I lived in Seattle I followed pigeons around a lot and I'd give them some bread. Now they're my friend.

Yes, lots to do - biking, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, concerts, theater, music, markets, films (watching or participating in), comic conventions, volunteer opportunities, classes, museums, and lots and lots of artists and celebrities to stalk.

A one bedroom can run from $1300 to $3100 - depends on what area you're living in and what your needs are. If there's a view and parking, you'll pay more. You sound young, so you may want to look near Belltown, Pike Place Market, Capitol Hill, or the University District.

As has been stated, no roaches, at least none I've ever seen. The crows, however, are annoying and unbelievably smart.
