Looking for recommendations for decent movers with good prices on the Eastside.

Moving a 1730 sqft home and we'll be doing the packing.

Thanks!

Right "here" in Kirkland: Jordan River Moving.

Why: recommended by two pals (couple, moved in together) consolidating homes in Puyallup and Bellevue to Redmond.

Used them personally for a 1700-ish sq ft move Mill Creek to Kirkland just a few years ago, on their recommendation.

Upsides: undercharged me, as far as I'm concerned. Think it was about $650, I tipped them heavily. I packed most of the stuff, they sort of scooped up the rest (not much). I'm assuming I saved big on travel time for them since their truck lot/base is maybe 8 blocks from my new home's location. They sent two or three guys who were steps ahead of me at all times. Surprised they didn't try and stuff me in a box and toss in back!

Downsides: none, really.

I've used Adam's Moving Service three times now, and recommend them highly.

My quick two cents, don't use Neighbors moving. We used them for a move from Redmond to Marysville to help pack our things and move things into a POD. Then move the things out of the POD into our home.

The problems were mostly with there packing. I use the analogy of when I was young and single with few posessions and moved alot. I used to throw things where ever I could just to get packed as fast as possible. That basically what they did. They took stacks of dishes and wrapped the whole stack in a single sheet of packing paper. They put parts of things in multiple boxes. Like parts to our bed ended up amongst 4 different boxes. Tons of our things were just dumped in boxes with zero care (picture drawers just taken out and dumped in boxes). There was also issues with the team moving us out of our house, were multiple hours were wasted moving extremely slow, the "foreman" had to give the other team members specific instructions all along the way and if he didn't they'd just literally stand around... They did give us some money back for that but we are still waiting for them to make it right on the packing issues.

On top of that the management has been very slow to try and rectify the issues. We've had to push them every step of the way to try and get some of our money back even though they. The team that moved our things out of the PODS and into our new house was there "A team" knowing they had screw up for the move out. This team confirmed that all the packing they had performed was awful and unprofessional. We expected the management to call us back with there team having confirmed the awful packing but we never heard anything and are still working with them today and it has been a month already...

Anyway, yeah; Neighbors not so good for us. We've used United moving lines for doing across country moving and storage with much success, great experience with packers and movers and highly recommend them.

I realized that I forgot to note in the OP that this is a local move, only ~15 miles.

A third for Jordan River. If you work for MS a 10% discount is offered through the prime card.
