Gee, guess some of you have not learned from what's happening in Washington D.C., huh? This one is a real winner, too.

Seattle elects socialist candidate to city council

SEATTLE (AP) — Seattle voters have elected a socialist to city council for the first time in modern history.

Kshama Sawant's lead continued to grow on Friday, prompting 16-year incumbent Richard Conlin to concede.

Even in this liberal city, Sawant's win has surprised many here. Conlin was backed by the city's political establishment. On election night, she trailed by four percentage points. She wasn't a veteran politician, having only run in one previous campaign.

On the other hand, the people of Seattle voted in a new Mayor who is far more business/industry friendly over McGinn. I think Seattle likes to vote out incumbents lately, and that's probably a good thing.

I was telling my friends here in Houston about this recently, how Seattle is like an entirely different country.

It is so alien a concept in TX, the socialist platform, that it warranted mention in the Houston news, lol! Here the word socialist evokes devil horns.

Correction: a neo-con Troskyite was elected to city council, not a socialist. This Sawant person is about as socialist as the KKK is for diversity.

A real socialist would be running as a social democrat, not a Troskyite. People in Seattle just didn't stop and do some research and figure out that there is very little difference between this woman and William Kristol.

Why Bill Kristol HATES Ron Paul - YouTube

A Troskyite running for something in a democratic election makes as much sense as an anarchist running for elected office. Their view is that only violent revolution and totalitarianism can achieve anything...sick people.

Anyway, the whole $15 minimum wage is absurd and will never pass. It barely passed in Seatac and Seattle will never let that happen. It will be the death of the city with Bellevue the biggest winner as businesses will move their. A living wage in Seattle is $9.67 an hour for a single man and hence it makes sense to have a $10 an hour minimum wage, but $15? Why not a $50 an hour minimum wage why we're at it?

And all this whining about the "poor people" by a socialist ignores one thing: EVEN KARL MARX UNDERSTOOD THAT SOME PEOPLE WERE JUST WORTHLESS!
Lumpenproletariat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hell, I was born into poverty in a black ghetto, and I managed to make something of myself despite being lazy as hell while members of my family failed. Why? Because I worked hard and took advantage of what was out there. I didn't need a Troskyite to give me fifteen dollars and hour: I worked until I made even more than that.

A real socialist would focus on giving people the tools to better themselves...a communist, like Sawant, wants to impose her own will on everyone else and destroy the individual. A real socialist would understand that the meth heads and street bums are beyond help and should be left to live the life of poverty that they, through their actions, have chosen for themselves and focus instead on making sure working people are treated fairly.

This woman is insane. Good thing is I can guarantee you that almost none of her agenda will pass and she will probably only last one term.

Are they not aware of the state of Vermont? the only state with an active socialist party at state level. Former congressman and mayor of Oakland as well as Berkeley city council member Ron Dellums was so openly socialist, he was on Nixon's enemy list. Seattle hasn't broken ground with this at all. Not something it should be singled out for.

It makes one wonder...will an openly fascist be elected to some state congress in Texas or Oklahoma some time soon to even things out?

Vermont has Bernie Sanders, a REAL SOCIALIST, who is in the US Senate. This isn't all that crazy really.

Most federal employees believe they are worth $50 hr. That's over $100K yearly.

What would you pay someone $50 hr to do?
