This is interesting. They decided that red light cameras weren't worth it. I wonder if there are any other reasons they're not revealing for this change?

Any other reason? Follow the money. "The number of people running red lights at those intersections have decreased." No one running lights, no dough. It's almost always about the money.

A friend of mine was seriously injured in Auburn. She came to a quick stop in her mini Cooper for a yellow light and the person behind her plowed into her. I tried to get her to contact an attorney but I don't think she ever did. I once talked to a guy who seemed to know a little about traffic engineering standards, and he thought that cities with red light cams were opening themselves to liability in cases of rear end collisions.

The mayor said it hasn't generated revenue since the first year. That's crazy to me.
