This is not surprising. There have been many studies pointing out the fact that crows are in fact very intelligent creatures with extraordinary problem-solving capacities.

I watched a study once where a researcher recorded footage of a crow who was capable of performing highly complex tasks in order to retrieve food. In the most elaborate test, the researcher built this locked chest which opened when these three particular stones were placed upon this balancing scale. The researcher then built three separate puzzles which protected each stone. The crow in the video was able to solve all three puzzles to gain access to the three stones, and proceeded to place the three stones onto the balancing scale in order to unlock the door to the bird food. It was a remarkable sight to behold.

Some parrots especially!

The next time someone calls you a "bird brain" -- consider it a compliment

Crows can be nasty (some actually spiteful towards humans) so it's nice to this girl was able to bring out the kinder side in them.
