The getaways we can have around here: the San Juans, Whidbey Island, Vancouver BC, Idaho, Lake Chelan, Portland, etc.
The trees, the foliage, the birds, the flowers.
The abundance of amazing restaurants.
The abundance of shopping.
No personal income tax.
Water everywhere you go in the Puget Sound Area.
Copper River Salmon when it's available.
The summertime. The best in the United States!

I’ve gotta say, and I’ve lived in many places, Seattle is hands down my favorite city in the world. It is everything I want in a city. It’s urban, green, temperate, vibrant, bustling, and just an overall great city. Sure, it has its problems but it is acutely aware of its problems and actively working on them. I love the fact that I can be in Canada in a matter of hours, I can be in the desert, I can be at the ocean, I can be in a rainforest, or on the top of a mountain. It’s likely I will have to leave Seattle one day, and that is going to really suck. But it’s not today, and in the mean time, I am going to soak up as much as I can of this city and of the PNW.

Ok I gotta say, on days like these recent summer days, my condolences for anyone not in the PNW

I love how green and mountainous Seattle is. I love how accepting people are here, the laid-back attitude and the proximity to so many nice places.

Beautiful rivers that flow from the Cascade Mountains. Lots of special spots and trails not too far away.

Yeah Josie, even in the midst of this "heat wave", we threw our windows open in Seattle last night, cooled to 60F outside.

World Music, African Music, Reggae Music...many live great concerts outdoors in Seattle, Nectar Lounge, places like that. There is much love for "ethnic" music in this area, which draws these often very well known musicians here.

Finest summer weather that I have experienced anywhere-warm and sunny, but not too hot and not too humid.
