Hi all, now that we've moved up here, we find ourselves needing some doctors. Can anyone recommend good ones? Willing to go into Seattle itself if we need to for good doctors, though we're in Redmond now.

1. Urologist
2. Dermatologist
3. OB-Gyn
4. Pulmonologist
5. General practioner

Thanks!!

Jenlion, anyone connected with Overlake Hospital Medical Center (Overlake Hospital Medical Center) in Bellevue is amazing.
Overlake is on 116th Ave. NE between NE 8th and NE 12th, just north of Whole Foods which is on the NE 8th and 116th Ave. NE corner.

“Overlake” is a complex of interconnected buildings, including the full-service Hospital, and Overlake Medical Tower containing the offices. Overlake is the regional center for just about every kind of specialty there is, plus imaging of all kinds (X-rays, mammography, etc.), labs, and physical therapy.

The Tower contains Overlake Internal Medicine Associates (http://www.oima.org/) I recommend most highly. On their website, you'll see a drop-down for Specialties. I would say that any one person, or any ten persons, you might choose to see who are affiliated with Overlake will turn out to be among the best in the country.
The Tower also contains Bellevue Clinic, the group of family practice/internal med physicians (Overlake Hospital Medical Center (http://www.overlakehospital.org/programs.aspx?id=392 - broken link)) 425-289-3100.
Also, right across 116th is the Bellevue Eye Clinic (Bellevue Eye Clinic & Overlake Optical) which works hand in hand with Overlake doctors.
911 ambulance calls on the east side will automatically take a patient to Overlake as it is the east side’s leading emergency and trauma center.

Over the years, I have been a patient of different specialties, at Overlake, Swedish and Virginia Mason, and a doctor associated with Providence (the last three are among the major centers in the city of Seattle), and Overlake is the best. (My background includes New York City, considered one of the finest medical centers in the world, so I guess I got a pretty good education in good western medical care.) The driving imperative of Overlake management for many years has been to gather the highest quality medical-care people available. Several of their staff in many different specialties saved my life four times in the space of two days!!!! in the Overlake ER and ICU in 2002, while I was unconscious all the time and they made all the decisions. The follow-up care I’ve received since then has been excellent. They do things right.

I like Evergreen better than Overlake.

A Women's Clinic At Evergreen - Kirkland, WA- (A Women's Clinic At Evergreen - Kirkland, WA) Home

I was seen through all of my pregnancies by Lorraine Robertson @ A Woman's Clinic of Evergreen... she is hands down, awesome and wonderful. They work with Eastside Maternal-Fetal Medicine Eastside Maternal Fetal Medicine and deliver at Evergreen.

Never in our experience. We were always asked our preferance - and for us, it was Children's (for the kids) or Evergreen for me/husband/and for our children that did not have previous medical issues. Overlake has only recently been named a trauma center, and is the only one on the east side, so I guess that's why it's the "leading" trauma center

My OBGYN is awesome. His name is Dr. James Haines. He is president of the Seattle Gynecological Society and the chairperson of the obstetrics and gynecology department at Overlake Hospital Medical Center. His practice also works with Eastside Maternal Fetal Medicine (I had many a non-stress test there before my son was born). Here's the website for his practice:

Agreeing with Veronika, I see Dr. Paley at the same practice and just think he is the best. I have has a rough year pregnancy wise and he was just the best a doctor could be. I have seen all of the doctors at that practice from time to time ( whoever was on call for my 19 hospital trips) and they all are wonderful.

Hi guys, thanks!

Can you tell me if these ob-gyns are friendly to "natural" deliveries? What about the hospital? That's what I did with my first, and having the doctor fine with it and some great nurses made a huge difference.

Also -- we need a dentist, too, have suggestions?

Thanks!

I really like Overlake Hospital, I was there 19 times during my pregnancy last summer and found everyone on staff to be wonderful. As far as "natural", do you mean no epi? If so that is totally up to you, it was my call whether I got one and the doctor never pushed me either way!

DENTIST

My dentist is the finest I've ever known. You may not want to go to downtown Seattle for a dentist, but mine is Dr. Steven Prince, 1218 3rd Ave # 1300, Seattle WA 98101, (206) 622-7237. I had a tooth pain, phoned the 1-800 find-a-dentist service at the time, they recommended Dr. Prince, and that was OMG!! 22 years ago!!

I have my father's teeth -- like sawdust -- and have had dentists in the many places I've lived in the U.S. and the world. Dr. Prince is unquestionably the finest I've encountered, and his staff are smart, warm and compassionate, and have been with him for years and years. Dr. Prince even wears funny neckties for his children patients and has amusing toys and colors in his office. He is deeply compassionate about pain management, and extremely current on technologies and intelligent about choosing which of them to use. He and his wife have four children and a small gaggle of companion animals.

I found some internet reviews of his practice:
Steven Prince DMD - Downtown - Seattle, WA 98101
and
Seattle Dentist Reviews: Dr. Steven Prince, DDS, WA. Dr. Prince, Dentist, 98101.

They are very into natural deliveries at Overlake. They pretty much encourage natural delivery, breastfeeding, etc. They pretty much left asking for an epi up to me. It was an amazing experience to birth at Overlake.
