Issues? I have seen many Young Asians girls who date/marry white men who could pass for their father even grandpa at times. Saw it yesterday a Chinese girl with a guy who probably in his late 50s to early 60s and she was most likely 28-35 years old. When was the last time you saw an Asian couple who totally mismatched in age and looks. It does not happen.

Hate to admit but I've noticed this as well. Can anyone shed some light on this? Are there simply not enough suitable Asian guys available? It can't be economics as Asian guys are on average high net earners.

It is economics. Asians do good in terms of decent jobs, but white people have more access period. There aren't too many Asian versions of Warren Buffet or Bill Gates in the USA at least. Most Asians do have a very decent upper middle class lifestyle, but they never rise to the absolute top. When you want to marry into prestige you would go for a white family, who may even have older generational wealth. It's basically social dating. I think this is common in Asia and even encouraged in some families. There is a term for it called hypergamy

This is changing. Maybe not in Seattle, but in the Bay Area, some of the founders of very successful start-ups are either from India or of Indian parentage. But maybe the start-up phenom is different from the classic working-your-way-up scenario. Still, in San Francisco, which could be an exception, Asians do make it to the top. But you've lived in the Bay Area, so maybe you could share some observations about that, too.

Starting a company doesn't put you on top. The VC firms are mostly all white. There are a handful of Asian VCs, but it's mostly completely white dominated. And even if their are Asian VCs, the biggest and most influential ones are still mostly all white. Asians are not even close to the level of influence whites have in America, not even close.
