hi guys, houstonian here...currently employed in IT field in oil and gas, making a base of $135K.

When looking for jobs in seattle, what Salary would be comparable to what i'm currently making? I looked up some salary adjustment calculators online but they all were showing comparables in the $200K range which i don't think is realistic.

Any help appreciated!

thanks!

Quite possibly. We saw a double in salary when we came from Michigan.

Keep in mind though that our COL is higher too, especially in housing. Many a Texan decide to stay Texan when they understand they'll be paying twice the price for half the house.

Housing is no joke more expensive, think about how much house you need, remember that traffic is horrendous so you want to be as close to work as possible and then look how expensive those houses are and figure out the wage you need to afford the mortgage.
