Yeah, they are worried about straws while the bums are filling the streets with their filth begging people for money. Way to have your priorities straight, Seattle.

The cynicism in this thread, oy. It's a start and a good one. The attitude of 'won't do any good' is exactly why nothing ever gets done. That's part of the problem not solution.

Shall we hire the homeless to pick up stray plastic rubbish? 1 kg of plastic == 1 free night at the Ye Olde City Hall B&B.

Don't worry; the RVs full of free heroin are still a go.

That is true, but equally true is worrying about nonsense accomplishes nothing of substantial value

Yeah, it's a start. A start of something that doesn't matter. I will say it again, Seattle has many more important problems than plastic straws. I am embarrassed at my hometown over this, frankly. Call it cynicism if you wish, but this is where cynicism meets reality.

I know its sarcasm, but!! I think that would be a great ideal since the city is pushing the "environmental friendly" lifestyle anyway. So, what's wrong with the homeless giving back to the community that gives to them? It's not like they're too busy making a living or paying taxes.

Starbucks jumps on the 'no straws' bandwagon with a plan that uses MORE plastic than keeping the straws and the left loves them for being "woke".
