Total First World problem but I am sick of sidewalk construction. Used to take me 3 minutes to walk to my bus stop but now it's about 10 because two sidewalks are closed for "construction" (workers standing around doing nothing) and I have to walk an inefficient route with additional crosswalks.

In my case the 15 minute walk went to 20, and the bus stop has changed places several times (2nd and Stewart). Now we stand under scaffolding. Yes, a bit of an inconvenience, but at the same time, it's been interesting to watch old buildings being demolished and become new high-rise hotels or apartments. Now, for example they just opened a bar, restaurant and hotel with valet parking in what was an old surface parking lot when I first started taking the 554.

Years ago, I was walking in the street in Seattle due to closed sidewalks when a police officer warned me that he was going to write a ticket for jaywalking.

I asked him where I was suppose to walk?? That at least kept me from getting a ticket.

Me! It's exasperating at times, for sure.

Yes! I walk a lot, and it can take a lot more time to have to cross a busy street where the lights rarely change and then cross back later. It's definitely annoying.

haha Yeah, it's getting very tiring and only going to get worse with the viaduct coming down. Who in the world thought it would be a good idea to knock that down at the same time as the ferry terminal being torn down?! My walking area is about to be non-existent. heh
