We usually travel back home for Christmas but this year we decided to stay put. What are some "Christmassy" things to do around here? We have kids who are a bit older (teens).

Hi cis,

Try to visit Leavenworth (the faux Bavarian village) on the other side of Hwy 2. It's a little cheesy at times but it sure it also magical in winter. I've heard this is very cool at Safeco Field as well: https://enchantchristmas.com/seattle/

Garden D'Lights in Bellevue is certainly worth a visit: https://bellevuebotanical.org/garden-dlights/

It's festive at the carousel at Westlake Park: https://www.parentmap.com/calendar/34397

Take them tubing at Snoqualmie Pass: https://summitatsnoqualmie.com/activities/snow-tubing

A matinee performance of the Nutcracker is a classic: https://www.pnb.org/nutcracker/

Sometimes we just jump in the car in the evening (we call it our magical mystery tour) with our daughter, drive around pretty historic neighborhoods of Seattle and look at Christmas lights.

Cheers,
Vince

Just wondering how long it will take for somebody in the younger generation subset to be offended by Snowflake Lane. I give it 3 years before it has a different name.

Pete, how could you be so insensitive? The name was recently changed to "Organically Crystalized Precipitation Place" .
